AB Rocker Trainer Instructions

The Ab Rocker Trainer is an at-home abdominal workout device from the Body by Jake line of fitness products. Its rocking motion is meant to work the rectus abdominis, the paired set of muscles that help create the "six pack." After putting the Ab Rocker Trainer together, you're ready to start using it to target the abs.

Step 1

Sit on the base of the Ab Rocker Trainer. Put a hand on each of the bars, toward the top of the grip pads.

Step 2

Place your legs in front of you with the knees slightly bent. Your feet should be planted firmly on the floor and your legs together.

Step 3

Contract the abdominal muscles and rock forward. Use your abs, not your body's momentum. Don't push with your arms. To get the most out of the exercise, keep the rocking slow and controlled.

Step 4

Return to the starting position and repeat the movement. The Bodybuilding Workout website recommends that you perform a minimum of two to four sets with 10 to 20 repetitions in each set.

Step 5

Use the Ab Rocker Trainer at least three times a week.

Tips and Warnings

  • The Ab Rocker doesn't "spot-burn" abdominal fat. Abdominal exercises can build muscle in the area, but they don't reduce belly fat.
