Avelox, or moxifloxacin is a medication in a classification of drugs known as fluoroquinolone antibiotics. Insomnia and nightmares may occur while taking Avelox. Patients may have difficulty falling or staying asleep at night. Some natural methods to induce sleep include warm milk, a warm bath, massage and meditation. If insomnia becomes severe, patients should report it to a physician. They may consider prescribing a daily sleep aid to treat insomnia until treatment with Avelox is complete.
