Homeopathic medicine is based on the concept that minute amounts of a medicine that actually causes the symptoms of an ailment in a healthy person can cure that ailment. Eczema is a common skin disorder in children. It is described as a dry, itchy rash with a poor skin barrier. It is made worse by scratching, which can be particularly problematic for children with the condition. Visiting a doctor or homeopathic professional can help you find the best eczema treatment for your child.

Step 1

Prepare a sulphur bath by dissolving sulphur mineral salts in a hot bath. The University of Maryland Medical Center states that sulphur is best for hot, itchy red skin that worsens from scratching or washing the affected area. Scratching is common for children with eczema. Put gloves on a child to keep him from scratching overnight.

Step 2

Use Urtica urens if you believe you child's eczema is associated with allergy-sensitive skin. You can get an Urtica urens ointment from a homeopathic professional. According to Medline Plus, atopic dermatitis, the most frequent form of eczema, is the result of an allergic reaction, and is common in infants and children.

Step 3

Rub Rhus toxicodendro, also known as poison ivy, onto the skin if an inflammation of eczema occurs after your child has had contact with an irritant or chemical.

Step 4

Apply calendula lotion, an ointment derived from marigolds, to inflamed skin to soothe eczema flare-ups. Calendula will not treat the eczema, but will help your child feel better and avoid scratching which can worsen the rash.
