Overview

Having tattoos removed can be a long, expensive process requiring repeated laser treatments from a dermatologist. Tattoo removal creams offer a more affordable alternative without the hassles of doctor visits and follow-up appointments. There are a number of tattoo removal creams on the market claiming to perform miracles of ink eradication. But the following creams have all received high marks from their manufacturers and users alike.

Wrecking Balm

Using a proprietary formula, the Wrecking Balm Tattoo Fade System promises to fade unwanted tattoos in the privacy of your home without prescriptions or the need for numerous doctor visits. The entire process takes three steps. First, an FDA-approved handheld medical device works to gently remove the upper layers of skin above the tattoo. Second, a chemical serum penetrates deep into the ink-stained layers of skin, breaking up the ink at a cellular level. Finally, the process supports the skin’s natural regeneration process, pushing the inked skin layers to the surface where they can be exfoliated. Most tattoos fade after two months.

Profade

The Profade Tattoo Removal System involves three separate creams. The first cream prepares the tattoo to ensure the skin is capable of accepting the remaining two steps. The second cream begins the activation process, meaning it starts to break up the ink particles deep within the skin. Finally, users apply a third cream to further the tattoo’s disappearance and elimination. Profade claims to remove tattoos within 3 to 9 months.

Tattoo Off

A product of the Beauplexa cosmetics company, Tattoo Off removes tattoos or permanent cosmetics. When you apply Tattoo Off to the skin as directed, its creams work to fade tattoos until they vanish completely, utilizing a special combination of natural ingredients such as aloe leaf juice, eucalyptus globules, orange peel, rosemary leaf and sage leaf.

Dermasal

Another three-step system, Dermasal incorporates a soothing agent, topical solution and protective gel to remove unwanted tattoos in as little as three months, regardless of the tattoo’s age, colors or ink. Dermasal works on all skin types and can be used on sensitive skin, although it’s not recommended for use on the face or pubic area.

Fade Away

Designed to erase smaller tattoos, the Fade Away Tattoo Removal System includes a skin cleaner, a skin scrub and a fading cream. When used in concert, the three Fade Away products remove tattoos without pain or fear of scarring. The Fade Away cream absorbs quickly into the skin while alleviating redness and irritation thanks to a mix of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients such as almond extract, avocado oil, bearberry, jojoba seed oil and ascorbic acid.
