Baldness and bald spots are an embarrassing condition that happens to millions of people every year. While most people think of aging when they think of balding, it can happen to anyone at just about any age. Bald spots on the front of your scalp can happen as a result of poor diet, stress, or illness. Most people suffer from hair loss because of hereditary factors. Hair loss occurs when the amount of keratin, the chemical responsible for growing your hair, decreases. While there are many products on the market that claim to regrow hair, there are only a few known treatments that doctors recommend. You can regrow your hair by drinking plenty of water and visiting your doctor for the correct medication.

Step 1

Hydrate your body. If your body is dehydrated, your body can't regrow hair. Your hair follicles need the nutrients in water to make keratin. Keratin is essential in regrowing the hair on the front of your scalp. The Mayo Clinic says you should drink at least eight eight-ounce glasses of water per day.

Step 2

Try UV light treatment. In UV light treatment, a doctor sends pulses of UV rays right into the front of your scalp. The UV rays are supposed to shock your hair follicles into making keratin again. UV light treatment requires several trips to the doctor and you may have to wait up to a year to see any results.

Step 3

Try steroid treatments to regrow the hair on the front of your scalp. Steroid treatments are the most effective kind of hair regrowth treatment for the front of your scalp. During steroid treatment, your doctor will inject steroid solution such as Celestone into the part of your scalp where you want to regrow hair. The steroid solution stops your body from attacking your hair follicles and begin producing keratin again.

Step 4

Use minoxidil on the front part of your scalp. Minoxidil is an over-the-counter medication you can find at most pharmacies. Minoxidil is a foam like liquid that you rub onto your scalp to regrow your hair. While the Mayo Clinic recommends minoxidil to regrow your hair, they are unsure of exactly how it works. The Mayo Clinic says you may have to wait 12 weeks to see any results from the minoxidil treatment.

Step 5

Try immunotherapy on your scalp. In immunotherapy, a solution called diphencyprone (DPCP), is applied to your scalp. The solution causes an allergic reaction that causes your to develop a mild case of eczema. The amount of DPCP in the solution gradually increases in strength during treatments. It may take several months of treatments to see any results of new hair growth on the front part of your scalp. Make sure you watch your skin very closely during this time, as some people suffer a skin reaction to DPCP.
