Clotrimazole

Suffering from human immunodeficiency virus and diabetes or having a history of alcohol abuse may require a decrease in clotrimazole's dose. This medication is available as a cream, lotion or tablet typically taken two to five times a day or as a physician prescribes.
Tioconazole
Tioconazole, typically sold as Monistat-1 or Vagistat-1, is another antifungal medication that specifically treats candida infecitions of the vagina. Drugs.com says that some of tioconazole's less serious side effects include itching, burning, the need to urinate and skin irritation. Some of tioconazole's serious side effects include shortness of breath and swelling of the face, lips or tongue. It is important to call 911 when tioconazole leads to these effects. Tioconazole is an ointment inserted into the vagina once.
