Beaches

The Travel Channel and USA Today are among two of the many institutions that have ranked the Miami Beaches as the top in the world. The South Beach-Miami Beach has many food and concession stands as well as volleyball courts, water sport rental shops and umbrella and chair rental options. The South Point Park beach has on-site lifeguards as well as a fishing site and picnic table area.
Golf
More than 30 private or public golf courses in the Miami area are available for travelers and locals to choose from. Certain courses have special rates for afternoon and midweek golfers. The Crandon Golf Course of Miami is an 18-hole, 72-par course located in Key Biscayne. The 2010 winter rates for a round are $150, and the prices drop to $33 during the hot summer months. There are special twilight rates for $40 after 3 p.m. in the winter.

Miami has a rich and lively history that can be viewed by walking through the downtown design district or South Beach area. In Downtown Miami alone, there are more than 29 historically recognized landmarks including the Renaissance-style Central Baptist Church and the Chicago-style Huntington Building.
