Camping requires specialized equipment and forgetting something can result in a frustrating trip. Making a checklist of camping supplies can reduce the chances of forgetting essential pieces of equipment. Depending on the location and duration of your camping trip, the checklist will vary in length and contents. The basics, however, will remain the same and contain shelter, clothing, food, tools and extra gear.
Tent
According to the Survival Rule of Threes, you can live without shelter for three hours. As a result, a tent and shelter is one of the most important supplies on your camping checklist. Tents come in different sizes and models to match your camping style. If you are camping from a vehicle and close to the campsite, you can use a large tent with several rooms. If you are camping in the wilderness that requires hiking to the campsite, you will prefer a lightweight backpacking tent. Other supplies needed with the tent and shelter includes a ground tarp, extra stakes, hammer, pillow, sheets and a sleeping bag.
Clothing
Spending time in the outdoors can expose you to different elements, including wind, snow or rain. Your camping supplies checklist should contain an area designated for clothing. Adjust the checklist for the time of year, such as winter or summer. Start with planning on hiking shoes or boots, pants or shorts and shirts. Add insulated clothing during the winter or hats and bandanas during the summer. Always pack rain gear that protects during rain showers and can supply an extra layer of insulation during colder temperatures.
Camp Tools
Building and customizing your campsite requires several tools, such as knives, multitools or axes. These tools help to cut down firewood as well as erecting shelters. Flashlights, headlamps or lanterns illuminate the campsite during the evening, while sunscreen and bug repellent protect against the sun and bugs. Additional camp items include a folding table, camp chairs, grills, pots and pans.
Extras
Extra items on the camping supplies checklist can enhance the comfort level of the campsite. The most important extra items include emergency and first aid items. Always be prepared for the unexpected by packing first aid equipment and fire starters. Entertainment items can also be added, such as games, cards or balls.

one of the best pieces of camping gear i own is a folding chair called the maxxdaddy chair. it's comfortable, dependable, and can sustain high amounts of weight so anyone can use it. ive had it for a little over a year now and it has yet to disappoint me. if anyone is looking for camping gear that will last and last and last, you should check it out. you won't be sorry.
