Though Las Vegas may seem to be primarily marketed to adults, there are plenty of things for the whole family to do. Also known as "The Entertainment Capital of the World," Las Vegas is a city with myriad hotels, restaurants and attractions. If you are planning a visit with the whole family, it is absolutely possible to find fun things for kids to do in Las Vegas.
Animal Attractions
From lions to dolphins, there are plenty of exotic animals for children to enjoy seeing in Las Vegas. The Mirage offers a dolphin display in their own habitat at Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat. Lions can be seen at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. Kids will love the simulated jungle in which the lions live.
Amusement Rides
Roller coasters, flight simulators, and many other attractions are available in the heart of Las Vegas. The CinemaRideat Caesars Palace is a 3-D motion simulator wherein the seats in the auditorium move as you watch such 3-D adventures as an Atlantis submarine race, galactic flight, a haunted graveyard run, runaway coasters and a ski ride. For even more adventurous children (and adults) try the Manhattan Express Roller Coaster, which features an incredible number of drops and loops. Daredevil children will love the ride.
Light Shows
While Las Vegas may seem that it is one big light show all the time, nothing beats the light show at Fremont Street Experience. This show features over 2.1 million lights and an incredible array of sounds. The light show is put on 90 feet above the audience and is certainly a family-friendly event.
Arcades
Casinos are like arcades for adults--but Las Vegas has real arcades, on a super-sized scale that kids will love. GameWorks has over 250 games and even has a Coca-Cola and M&M store inside of it. The games aren't the only attraction here, though; GameWorks also features a rock-climbing wall for kids and adults to try out.
Restaurants for Kids
Kid-friendly dining is also available in Las Vegas. Whether you are looking for a family diner serving all-American food or a cool restaurant that focuses on entertaining children, Las Vegas has several options for you. Visit the Rainforest Cafe at the MGM Casino & Hotel if you want a jungle-themed restaurant specially for kids. The California Pizza Kitchen features one of kids' favorite foods as well as a kid-sized menu. Many hotels offer buffets with special kids' pricing.
