Frizz-Ease hair serum is a hair product from John Frieda. It is designed to promote soft, shiny hair without frizz or wiry ends. It is a hair-taming product that also has a sunscreen to block out damaging sun rays. It is used after shampooing and conditioning by rubbing a small amount in your hands and then applying it throughout the hair without rinsing. You then style as usual. Other than fragrance, it has six other ingredients.

Conditioning Agents

Conditioning agents work by making hair softer and better looking. There are two conditioning agents in Frizz-Ease hair serum: cyclopentasiloxane and hydrolyzed silk, according to Skin Deep. Cyclopentasiloxane also works as an emollient by making hair supple and smooth. Hydrolyzed silk will also work as a humectant by adding moisture to the hair shaft.

Lubricant

Lubricants add shine and provide moisture to the hair. It reduces the amount of friction and it will also make the hair and skin feel smoother. Dimethiconol is the lubricant in Frizz-Ease and it is a derivative of silica.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is added to products to block UVA and UVB rays from the sun. It absorbs or reflects the harmful rays, protecting the hair from potential damage. The sunscreen in Frizz-Ease is ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate. It is added to hair products to keep the product from deteriorating in the sunlight, according to Cosmetics Info.

Moisturizer

Moisturizers add water to skin or hair, keeping the hair shaft and scalp from drying out. The moisturizer in Frizz-Ease is mineral oil, a derivative of petroleum, which is thought to be one of the safest moisturizers ever tested, according to Cosmetics Cop. It is both clear and odorless.

Thickening Agent

Thickening agents help bulk up a product and keep it from being too thin. Algae and algae extract are thickening agents that also work as an antioxidant and a water-binding agent, according to Cosmetics Cop. It is a simple organism that contains chlorophyll.
