The Lenson ionic detox foot bath, also known as the Lenson ion foot spa, is a device that claims to cleanse the body through a process called "Electrolysis/Osmosis." The device consists of a foot basin, a control panel and a dual electrode module made up of a positive anode and a negative cathode.
When the module is immersed in the foot basin, it generates an electromagnetic field of charged ions. The makers of the device claim that this field is capable of extracting toxins from the body.
Step 1
Cover the foot basin with the plastic liner. Examine the fan assembly, located at the rear of the basin and confirm that there is enough space between the liner and the assembly for the fan to work properly.
Step 2
Place the electrode module into the foot basin. Take the cord that leads from the module and plug the free end into the port on the rear of the basin. Pour warm water into the basin until the level of the water reaches the steel bolt on the electrode module.
Step 3
Connect the surge protector to a nearby electrical outlet. Connect one end of the power adapter into the corresponding port on the foot spa, then plug the remaining end into one of the outlets on the surge protector. Remove any metallic objects on your person, then sit down on a non-metallic seat and place your feet into the basin.
Step 4
Press the red power button to turn on the spa. Press the "OK" button twice, then use the arrow buttons to select the desired strength for your treatment. Press the "OK" button to confirm your selection.
Step 5
Press the button labeled "Start" and examine the information shown on the display unit. If the number labeled "A" displays a reading between 0.10 and 1.90, add a pinch of salt to the foot basin, then agitate the water with your feet until the number reaches somewhere between 2.00 and 2.40; this ensures that the amperage is set at the optimal level for the treatment.
Step 6
Leave your feet in the water for the duration that corresponds to the selected strength of your treatment; a level one treatment requires sixty minutes of immersion, while levels two and three require only thirty.
Tips and Warnings
- Replace the water in the basin prior to each treatment; do not use distilled water. Clean the device with hot water and vinegar between uses. The available treatment strengths range from level one to level three; these correspond to normal, moderate and strong, respectively.
