No one is exempt.

The secret’s out. As you age a lot of transformations take place that are beyond your control. Your metabolism slows down, you become less flexible, your hair starts to thin, your skin becomes less elastic, and free radical damage increases just to name a few things. I don’t mean to sound like a like a dark cloud, I’m just being a realist. If you keep the free radical damage arrested then these progressive ailments can be kept in check.

You Can’t Change the Past But You Can Change the Future.

What’s done is done. Let’s call a spade a spade. If you used to eat double bacon cheeseburgers washed down with a bucket sized cup of soda pop every day for ten years, that’s fine. Make a pact with yourself to change right now. Slowly eliminate the ill advised food and drinks from your diet and the aging process will be a much more happy vacationing resort. The normal aches and pains associated with the aging process will be blunted by less free radicals that were caused from the beers, sodas, and gravy covered cheese fries.

Age is Just a Number.

“I’m too old to get in shape. I’m too old to exercise. I’m too old to start eating healthy.” I’ve heard it all before, I’ve seen it all before, and all I have to say is one thing… Don’t be your worst enemy. You are NEVER too old to exercise, eat better, or get into great shape. The minute you start thinking in terms of what you CAN”T do, you start to create more free radical damage. Why? Because A, you are being negative and B; you are not exercising or eating right. Naturally your body is going to become more toxic. They say a mind is terrible thing to waste. Well I feel a body is an even more terrible thing to waste.

4 Across.

Have you done any crossword puzzles lately? No? That’s cool. It doesn’t have to be a crossword puzzle. It can be any type of brain stimulating game or puzzle. You see, as a result of free radical accumulation, the brain starts to lose its sharpness and clarity as we age. I am a firm believer and proponent of exercising the brain as well as the body. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, stand on one foot while you read memorize a monologue. I always try to get most out of the least.

A Friend in Need.

By participating in weight bearing exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, you can help slow the aging process brought on by free radical production. It doesn’t have to be fancy. It doesn’t have to be cute. You don’t even have to do it in one consecutive bout. Just make it happen. Think of exercise as a good friend who you can always rely on when you are in need of extending your life.
