The City of Boston has much to offer its visitors, including cultural facilities, educational institutions and a historical baseball park. Boston is also rich in American history, including the famed Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The city also has plenty of educational and healthy things to do, including an open air market with a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables.
Shopping
Boston is filled with quaint shops, upscale stores and much more. Just stop in at the Main Street District and discover over 2,000 businesses that have much to offer, or take a stroll along Newbury Street for some unique window shopping.
Dining Out
Boston has a plethora of restaurants and fine dining for every taste. Stop in at the well-known Bull and Finch Pub, the bar that used was as the inspiration for the TV show "Cheers" and have more than just a burger and fries. Also, be sure to check out Boston's North End, which is the city's oldest Italian neighborhood and has many restaurants and sites to see.
Sightseeing
If you are visiting the city of Boston for the first time, or if you've lived there all your life, be sure to stop in at the historic Fenway Park and take a tour of the park. Or check out Boston's Freedom Trail, which is a 2.5-mile trail that has 16 different historical sites, including the Park Street Church, The Old North Church, the site of the Boston Massacre, King's Chapel, Bunker Hill Monument, Old State House, Paul Revere House and much more.
Local Foods/Markets
Boston also offers healthy options for those who love fresh produce. Stop in at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, where they offer over 40 places to eat, 49 shops and quaint streets to stroll down. The marketplace has been a staple in Boston for over 250 years. Also be sure to check out the city's SoWa Open Market which is open every Sunday from May through October.
Free Things
If you're on a tight budget, there's a plethora of things to do that don't cost a thing. Be sure to check out the Coit Observatory, where you can gaze at the stars. Also visit the Old North Church, the U.S.S. Constitution, the Boston Public Library, the Bunker Hill Monument, the Sam Adams Brewery and much more. Boston also offers tours of the Massachusetts State House, The Freedom Trail, the JFK Trail, as well as the Custom House.
Educational Things
If you have children in tow, be sure to stop in at the Boston Children's Museum where there is plenty of interactive exhibits. For over 90 years, the children's museum has been providing educational and meaningful exhibits that focus on science, health & fitness, the arts and much more. Boston also is the home of the New England Holocaust Memorial, the Massachusetts Archives and Commonwealth Museum, and the Museum of African American History.
