Temperate subtropical weather makes the Orlando area one of the hottest vacation spots in the world, and entertaining more than 4 million visitors each year can be quite a challenge. The wide diversity of area entertainment is what keeps visitors coming back year after year. Options include seven major theme parks, water parks, wildlife attractions, unusual tours, shows and camping.

Camping with Mickey

The Fort Wilderness Resort is one of Disney World's lesser-known attractions. Set on 750 wooded acres, the campground offers campsite accommodations that range from tents and sleeping bags to rock star worthy RVs.
In true Disney style, each campsite offers a range of amenities, including privacy-enhancing landscaping, running water, electricity, cable TV, a charcoal grill and picnic area. You can even get high speed Wi-Fi for an extra charge.
Events, activities, shows, restaurants and watercraft rentals complete the not-so-wilderness experience. It's a great getaway for the clan of an inexperienced outdoorsman.

Ride a Bike

The West Orange Trail Bikes and Blades Co. is located at mile marker 0 of the West Orange Trail, which stretches 22 miles around Lake Apopka and through Winter Garden. Rent a variety of bicycles, including a recumbent bike, by the hour, the day or by the week.

Drive Like Richard Petty

At the Richard Petty Driving Experience, you can take the wheel of a real stock car for a thrilling high speed ride or ride shotgun with a professional driver at the wheel. Take a few laps around a real racetrack for an unforgettable driving experience.

A Desert Experience

The Orlando area is home to several popular large-scale theatrical production dinner shows. Arabian Nights features a large cast of talented acrobats on horseback, performing feats of skill and precision while you enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner. Children will be enchanted by the thrilling and romantic story of Scheherazade and her magical quest to become a princess.

Tee It Up

The Orlando area is famous for its golf courses, and the new Eagle Creek Golf Course is sure to please any golfer. The traditionally elegant European design of the clubhouse belies the high-tech innovation of mini-verde grass, engineered for firm and fast greens. Scottish-style bunkers and bulkheads, pristine surroundings and the Graves Golf Academy make this course a standout.
