Fun Things to Do in Seattle

Located in the heart of the Puget Sound in the state of Washington, the city of Seattle has plenty to explore, from health and fitness venues to outdoor shopping areas. Seattle also has a plethora of museums, tourist attractions, parks and gardens.

Outdoor Markets

One of Seattle's well-known outdoor shopping arenas, the Pike Place Market, draws daily crowds. Witness flying fish as you stop in at the fresh fish market during your visit. Be sure to check out the Ballard Farmer's Market where there's plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally.

Attractions

Seattle is also known for its many attractions, including the famed Space Needle. Be sure to ride 520 feet to the observation deck and take in some delectable food at SkyCity, the rotating restaurant at the top of the needle. If you're a coffee lover, it's a must to stop in at the original Starbucks coffee house.

History and Culture

For a touch of history and culture, be sure to stop in at one of Seattle's many museums and historical parks, such as the Museum of Flight or the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Stop by the Experience Music Project Museum where they offer educational exhibits to inspire everyone. Be sure to check out one of Seattle's many art museums and get a little culture, like the Frye Art Museum or the Seattle Asian Art Museum.

Education and Culture

Seattle also has numerous libraries and cultural arts centers. Check out the Seattle Public Library or the Langston Hughes Cultural Arts Center. Also, be sure to bring the kids to the Seattle Aquarium, where they can see the Window on Washington Waters exhibit that showcases varieties of aquatic life or any one of the many other exhibits the aquarium has to offer. Children and adults will enjoy the Woodland Park Zoo where there are more than 1,000 animals to see. Expose yourself to an educational experience at the Seattle Art Museum and see the many displays of art the museum has to offer.

Sports and Nature

For the sports enthusiast, try taking in a round of golf at one of Seattle's golf courses and golf clubs. Visit the Washington Park Arboretum or have fun whitewater rafting along the Wenatchee River with the Blue Sky Outfitters. For a relaxing time, visit one of Seattle's parks or gardens, like Kerry Park, Discovery Park or the Japanese Tea Garden.
