The vast and beautiful Denali park obtained national park status in 1917 but was known at first as Mt. McKinley national park. It was not until 1980 that it was renamed Denali, which is the name the native peoples had for Mt. McKinley. It's combination of beauty and a diverse ecosystem make it a must for those who love nature.

Wildlife Viewing Bus Trip

Denali is vast and hard to get around, so what better way to explore than with a guide? Experience day-long bus trips on the park's 92-mile main road with experienced tour guides who can help you locate the wildlife. These tours run from early June until mid-September.

ATV Tours

For the more adventurous type, a guided tour on a personal all-terrain vehicle is fun. There are a range of options available, from tours lasting between two and four hours, to sunset tours that allow you to take in the true grandeur and beauty of the park. You can drive your own ATV or be a passenger, but either way it is sure to be an exciting experience.

Flightseeing Tours

Denali Park is too large to explore from the ground, so why not get up where the birds are? The park provides exciting tours by plane so you can view the amazing scenery around Mt. McKinley/Denali and its surrounding glaciers.

Iditarod Race Dog Kennel

What could be more Alaskan than the Iditarod dog sled race, and what could be more fun than hugging some cute puppies? A trip to the kennel of three-time race winner Jeff King will give you an amazing insight into this iconic race. You will get to meet champion sled dogs, cuddle the cute next generation of champions and be given a short tour of the facilities.

White Water Rafting

Exploring the park by river is an amazing experience, and what better place to catch nature than where the animals come to drink? There are several river exploration options, with trips the whole family can enjoy, from calm trips downriver to more exciting whitewater experiences.
