Aphrodisiac Dessert

Certain foods have become well known for their aphrodisiac influence on the human body. Even so, there have not been many long-term, scientific studies on the overall effectiveness of popular aphrodisiac foods. As we know, food was not as readily available in early times as it is today. Undernourishment created a loss of libido and reduced fertility rates. So it would not be uncommon for those in early times to make note of certain foods that seemed to create an aphrodisiac effect. Many of these foods were prepared in a dessert form as an enticing treat in order to heighten the body’s sense.

Effects
A variety of foods have a direct effect on the human body (whether we admit it or not), just like exercise does. Foods such as cookies, cake or chocolate can either bring out the best or the worst disposition in us. This occurrence is not due to the enjoyable sensation of dessert on the tongue from the awakening of the taste buds, but is largely due to the chemical reaction that occurs in the brain when we eat such foods. Once we eat such foods it sends a signal that causes the body to release endorphins. Endorphins are a multifunctional chemical, and are emitted to deal with sensations by transmitting electrical impulses throughout the human body to the nervous system. Endorphins are also responsible for producing an aroused feeling known as sex drive when certain foods are eaten.

Considerations
Possibly why aphrodisiac foods seem to appeal to us is because they are in reality foods that improve our overall health. Another reason could very well be the pleasure of cooking alluring foods for someone we love, or to be served such intoxicating dishes. There are countless aphrodisiac desserts that rouse our senses; just the thought alone puts in motion the compelling desire to go out and gather up the ingredients in order to prepare a healthy and scrumptious dessert.

Identification
Ingredients for an aphrodisiac dessert can be healthy and stimulating at the same time. For starters, consider honey. This natural and healthy staple is a delicious and sensual indulgence. One simple and elegant treat whose main ingredient is honey is the timeless baklava.

Features
Baklava is an easy dessert to prepare and it will be sure to please the taste buds, as well as be the pathway to someone's heart (everyone knows the best way to someone's heart is through his stomach)! It must be said that not only is there just one aphrodisiac food involved in the making of this dessert, but in fact there are three in most basic recipes, which are the honey, nuts and cinnamon. Baklava is also made with phyllo dough and butter.

Another popular aphrodisiac dessert is warm chocolate nut brownies. Chocolate and nuts are both well-known aphrodisiacs.

Fresh berries with a heaping dollop of vanilla-flavored whipped cream is another stimulating favorite. The blend of the tartness of the raspberries, blueberries and strawberries with the sweet whipped cream make a healthy and tasty dessert. But don't stop there; the mixture of aphrodisiac raspberries, strawberries and vanilla make this a light, guilt-free aphrodisiac dessert.
