Antiwrinkle Face Creams

Many skin care products that promise to combat wrinkles don't actually work, warns beauty expert Paula Begoun in her book "The Original Beauty Bible." However, she says that some products, such as face creams formulated with antioxidants and retinoids, can help improve and condition your skin to reduce wrinkles and other skin problems. Don't waste your money on ineffective treatments; focus instead on proven products highlighted by cosmetics experts and dermatologists.

SkinCeuticals Renew Moisturizer

SkinCeuticals promises that its night cream can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on your face. Its herbal extracts and hydroxyl acids, which help exfoliate and resurface the skin, led InStyle magazine's beauty editors to name it 2010's best night cream. The cream's moisturizing benefits--it does a "thorough job" hydrating your skin's surface, according to reviewing dermatologist Ruth Tedaldi for the magazine--can also plump up the skin surface for a smoother appearance.

GoodSkin Labs Sculptinex Instant ReSculpting Face Treatment

GoodSkin Labs' skin firming cream, formulated with resveratrol and the patented Tensine complex, won a top finalist position at the 2010 beauty award ceremonies put on by the Cosmetic Executive Women trade group. The CEW says Sculptinex may help prevent skin damage thanks to potent antioxidants, and encourages collagen production in your skin to help firm away wrinkles.

Topix Replenix Cream CF

Topix's anti-wrinkle cream comes recommended by the beauty editors at Real Simple magazine. It's made with polyphenol isolates extracted from green tea leaves, which help reduce the effects of free radicals.
Soy extract and hyaluronic acid also exfoliate and condition the skin surface to help even out your skin tone and reduce wrinkle severity. It also contains caffeine. Writing for the magazine, dermatologist Heidi Waldorf says such caffeinated skin care products can help combat under-eye circles.

Avon Anew Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum

Avon's anti-wrinkle treatment placed as a top finalist in the CEW's 2010 beauty awards. The CEW says the serum is "ultra-concentrated" to help combat deep wrinkles using hyaluronic acid. The acid is unbeatable when it comes to plumping up your skin cells, according to Elle magazine, resulting in smoother skin. Avon claims its hylauronic acid is the same quality as found in prescription-quality products administered by dermatologists.
