Las Vegas has many attractions other than hotels and casinos for adult fun. When going to Las Vegas with the family, it is always ideal to look for hotel accommodations that are smoke-free and without casinos.
Families have many choices for family-friendly accommodations, recreational activities, family-bonding areas, kiddie shows and events, exhibits and museums, kid's gaming spots and lots of other all-ages fare.

Visiting Museums and Exhibits

Children can visit many museums and exhibits in Las Vegas. There is the Lied Discovery Museum, one of the United States' largest children's museums. It features more than 100 hands-on exhibits about science, arts, and humanities. There is the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay that features more than a dozen species of sharks, sawfish, giant rays, piranhas, golden crocodile and endangered green sea turtles. Family members can also enjoy the volcano at the Mirage, a free attraction that erupts nightly on the hour from dusk to midnight.

Dining Out

There are many quality dining spots providing both adult- and child-friendly options. Maggiano's Little Italy at the Fashion Show Mall provides family-style dining with must-try pasta and bread. Kids can also enjoy the diverse menu at the Cheesecake Factory at the Caesars Palace and Kahuanaville at Treasure Island. The whole family can also try the Rainforest Cafe at the MGM Grand. It offers good food while diners soak in the ambiance of the rain forest.

Enjoying Games and Rides

The family can try many games and rides at the Circus Circus' Adventuredome, America's largest indoor amusement park, with more than 20 rides and attractions. Parents can also bring the kids to Gameworks, a game zone filled with cutting-edge games. The family can try fun rides like The Manhattan Express Roller Coaster at New York-New York, a variety of rides at Stratosphere and Speed -- The Ride at the Sahara. Mountain Bike Las Vegas also offers family bonding activities.

Watching Children's Shows

While there are many adult shows in Las Vegas, there are some wholesome shows for children to enjoy as well. Circus Circus Hotel keeps its long-enduring tradition of being the world's largest permanent circus with circus acts. Children can also experience the fun at Mirage's Dolphin for a Day, where they can learn how to care for, feed and play with dolphins.

Taking Photos Around Las Vegas Landmarks and Attractions

Famous Las Vegas landmarks offer much for family photo-ops. From the Las Vegas sign to the Bellagio Fountains to the black pyramid of Luxor, taking photos around many Las Vegas attractions puts added value to the family's travel memories. The family can also visit nearby Red Rock Canyon and appreciate the beauty of nature at the Springs Preserve.
