Downsize your thighs with these five tips.

Sleek, sexy thighs to show off in those oh-so-skinny jeans. They look great, but you don't know how to get them. Even though you work out nearly every day, those jeans aren't getting looser. Well, here's five prescriptions from the Hollywood Doctor--no, not some plastic surgeon from "90210," but your Livestrong Fitness Expert.

Prescription 1: Cardio, cardio and more cardio. Most women should run, jog or power walk their way into those skinny jeans. Running and walking are some of the highest calorie burners and also tend to make the legs look longer. Check out the legs on runners and walkers on your next trip to the park and you will see long, lean legs. Do cardio workouts for at least 45 to 60 minutes. It sounds like a long time, but it will really make a difference in your workouts. The 30-minute mark is when your body begins to burn fat, and we all want that.

Prescription 2: Ballet and Pilates. These movements and stretches work the eccentric or lengthening part of the calf muscles.

Prescription 3: Work all the smaller muscle groups and avoid overtraining the large ones. Squat lunges, leg presses and step-ups are good for you, but you don't want to overdo it, so take off the heavy weights. Remember to add in leg lifts and gluteal tucks to slim down the smaller muscles.

Prescription 4: Get to stretching. Yep, stretching is a key to lengthening the muscles that you work. When you work out you break down muscles, and if you stretch or include yoga in your routine, it immediately lengthens the muscles and creates that long lean look. If you look at most dancers and yogis who include stretching in their daily routines, you see long, lean bodies.

Prescription 5: Diet is key. Keep the veggies and lean proteins coming in and avoid the white stuff: sugar and bread. Bread is a no-no to fit into those skinny jeans.

Whatever activity you like and no matter what body type you are, the most important thing is to feel good in your jeans and know that you can conquer the world.
