In addition to being used in cars, infant car seats offer the benefit of fitting into compatible strollers and stroller systems. Britax has its own travel-system stroller designed to fit its infant car seat and is coming out with two high-performing strollers that accommodate its trademarked car seat. The Britax infant car seat can be used with other brands of strollers, but requires a universal infant car seat adaptor strap.
Britax Chaperone Travel System
The Britax Chaperone Stroller is Britax's travel-system stroller that holds the Britax Chaperone infant car seat. The seat has individualized safety features, including true side impact protection that distributes crash forces. It also has an anti-rebound bar, which stabilizes the child seat by minimizing rotational forces associated with front and rear collisions. The quick-adjust head restraint and no re-thread harness allow users to adjust the shoulder height and head restraint without disassembling the harness. The stroller itself features a new one-hand fold mechanism, large under-seat storage basket, child and parent trays, a single brake pedal that engages and disengages both rear wheels, all-wheel suspension, an adjustable backrest and calf rest, a large canopy, adjustable height, a three-position recline and a centered handle grip that allows for single-handed steering. With the infant carrier in place, the stroller holds children 4 to 30 pounds and up to 32 inches; without the infant carrier, it holds children at least 6 months old and up to 55 pounds.
B-Ready
Britax is introducing a high-end stroller packed with features, including its Click & Go infant car seat adapter that works with both Britax-brand infant car seats and other major brands when used with the car seat adapter kit. The stroller also converts to an in-line double stroller. Other adaptable functions include a reversible top seat with three recline positions. It also has under-seat storage accessible from all sides, a canopy with sun visor and a ventilation window, an automatic chassis lock for folding, adjustable handle height with comfort grip, four-point suspension and a removable storage bag with insulated drink holders. Other accessories include an adult cup holder, a rain cover and Click & Go Britax Chaperone infant car seat adapters.
B-Scene
In the fall of 2010, Britax is coming out with its third Britax car seat-compatible stroller. Called the B-Scene, it features a chic three-wheel modular style with the Click & Go system of the B-Ready and Chaperone travel systems, with the added flexibility of a reversible toddler seat.
