Living a better, fuller life will help you to experience and appreciate more. Living better will allow you to be present in every activity, and it will allow you to embrace yourself and your life. It will allow you to take the good with the bad while moving through the bad with action and soaking in the good.

Diet and Exercise

Proper diet and exercise are important to living a better life. Regular exercise will keep your mind and body healthy and ward off any negative complications that can result from chronic illness or mental health problems. Exercise will boost your energy levels and improve your self-esteem, according to HelpGuide.org. Any type of exercise is beneficial, even if it is 15 minutes a day, but choose a form of exercise you enjoy so that you will maintain your routine. Also, a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins and low in fat and calories will help maintain your health.

Manage Stress

Managing your stress correctly is important in living a better life. According to the Mayo Clinic, stress management helps you control yourself and actively reduce the amount of stress you experience when it begins to get out of control. Continuous bouts with stress can lead to health problems, such as high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. Therefore, learning tips to manage your stress will counteract these problems, according to the Mayo Clinic. Stress management will not be attained over night, but with practice you can learn techniques such as deep breathing, counting and yoga to reduce your stress.

Use Humor

Laughter, smiles and humor are a way to live better. Many times, you take yourself and others around you too seriously, causing unnecessary conflicts, unmet goals and dissolved relationships. It is important to bring humor to your life. Lightheartedness can give you the skills to work well with others and let stressful events roll off your back. According to HelpGuide.org, laughter relaxes your whole body, boosts your immune system, triggers the release of mood-boosting endorphins and improves your heart function by increasing blood flow and improving the functioning of your blood vessels.

Get Organized

Organization can help you move through life smoothly and efficiently, without the frustrations caused by the loss of everyday items or the forgetfulness that can trigger increased stress. If you organize your life, you will feel much calmer and more relaxed. You will be able to function efficiently because you will know where things are, when things are scheduled for and what you have to accomplish. Also, when you organize, the unnecessary items that can induce stress will be removed from your life. An important thing to remember is that organizing itself should not produce stress. If it does, you have probably let the lack of organization get out of hand and are not taking small steps to get re-organized.
