Triathlon training is different than training for other sports. With triathlon, three sports---swimming, running and biking---demand attention and time, and Well-Fit is an organization geared specifically for triathletes and the demands of training for three different sports. In addition to a Well-Fit facility, the organization provides training plans and guidance for triathletes of all abilities and ages.

History

Well-Fit was founded by Israeli Sharone Aharon, a triathlon competitor and USA Triathlon Level III certified coach. He has degrees in physical education and exercise sciences, and had focused on exercise physiology, nutrition, biomechanics and behavioral psychology. Coaching since 1988, he has completed seven Ironman triathlons, as well as numerous other races. Aharon founded Well-Fit to motivate other athletes and lead by example, and wants athletes of all levels to realize their potential and work to the best of their ability.

Well-Fit Performance Center

Located in Chicago, the Well-Fit Performance Center benefits both triathletes and athletes of varied disciplines. Chicago Athlete Magazine called it the first triathlon-specific training center in the Midwest. The center boasts an Endless Pool, bike storage, gear check, laundry service, high-performance treadmills, CompuTrainers with the bike course of almost every United States triathlon course, personal online training programs and a recovery room filled with snacks, drinks, a multisport library and television. It offers memberships and guest passes.

Group Training

Well-Fit offers group training for various triathlons, including Ironman Wisconsin, Steelhead Ironman 70.3 and the Harbor Lights Triathlon. Group training includes daily workout plans and weekly coached group sessions, and vary in duration, depending on which event the group is training for. There are also group training programs for other sporting events like the Chicago Marathon.

Personal Training

Training for a triathlon can be daunting, and Well-Fit offers personal training programs that can help make getting into triathlon condition easier. Aspects of personal training with Well-Fit include sport-specific training, core stability, cardiovascular fitness and plyometrics. Due to the unique nature of each personal training relationship, fitness plans will be tailored to your goals and the event for which you are training, as well as areas that need strengthening or refining.

Online Training

Not every aspiring triathlete can live in or near Chicago and take advantage of Well-Fit, and that is where online training comes in. Well-Fit has developed online training programs for the triathlete training for her first triathlon to the seasoned athlete who needs a plan for her third Ironman. Everyone who signs up for online training gets a Training Peaks account with detailed training logs, calendars, spreadsheets, feedback and support and workout notification emails.

The Well-Fit Elite Team

USA Triathlon and Well-Fit jointly developed the Well-Fit Elite Team in 1998, according to Chicago Athlete Magazine. It is a training team of elite triathletes, coached by Well-Fit founder Aharon, based on his experiences as a coach for the United States National Triathlon Team.
