One way to have clear looking skin is to wash it every day. If dirt and oil builds up on the skin and inside the pores, the results can be pimples, blackheads and acne. These are all skin problems that can permanently scar the skin if not treated properly and within a reasonable amount of time. Since clear skin is a sign of health, beauty and good personal hygiene, make sure you wash your face regularly.

Prepare

Make sure you have everything you need before you proceed to wash your face. Have soap or a cleanser that is formulated for your skin type within arm's reach, and have a freshly laundered face towel by your side. Before you wash your face, put your hair in a ponytail if it is long to keep it out of way.

Remove Mascara

Remove mascara with an eye makeup remover, if you wear mascara. Dip a cotton swab into the bottle of liquid eye makeup remover and blot the excess oil by squeezing the cotton swab with a tissue. Close one eye and stroke the top of the eyelashes on the closed eye with the cotton swab, using a downward motion. Moisten the other end of the cotton swab with the oil, squeeze out the excess and wipe the underside of the eyelashes with the cotton swab. Open the eye and gently wipe the eyelashes with a clean tissue. Wet another cotton swab with eye makeup remover, and gently clean the area under and around the eye with the cotton swab. Repeat this procedure on the other eye.

Wet Your Skin

Adjust the water temperature so that it is comfortably warm. Lean over the sink and wet your face, cupping both of your hands together. Fill your cupped hands with water and cover your face with the water so your entire face is wet. Wet your face again in this manner.

Apply Your Cleanser

If you are using a liquid cleanser, put a quarter size amount of cleanser in the palm of one hand, add a little water to it and rub your hands together. If you are using a bar soap, wet the soap and rub it in between your hands to work up a good lather. Close your eyes and spread the cleanser or soap all over your face.

Wash the Cleanser Off

Cup both hands under warm running water and rinse your face with it. Keep rinsing your face with water until all traces of cleanser are removed. Pay special attention to the area around the eyes when rinsing so soap left behind does not get in your eyes and irritate them.
