There are no quick fixes to ridding the body of cellulite. Unfortunately, many topical creams and other advertised cellulite solutions aren’t effective. While there are other methods that help to temporarily reduce cellulite, diet and exercise are the closest you will get to a permanent fix.

Go for a Jog

Running and jogging will give you a noticeable reduction in cellulite on your lower body. Since cellulite is the result of fatty deposits under the skin, a cardio workout that reduces your body fat percentage will reduce the appearance of cellulite. Run or jog three times a week for 30 minutes to start seeing results.

Resistance Training

Resistance training reduces your body fat and builds muscle as well. Adding muscle will reduce the appearance of cellulite, giving your lower body a smoother, firmer appearance. Squats, lunges, step-ups and hip extensions are some of the best total lower-body workouts for slimming down, adding muscle and reducing cellulite. Try one or a combination of exercises every other day for the best results.

Take a Swim

Swimming burns considerable calories while strengthening the arms and legs. An hourlong swimming workout can burn upward of 800 calories and help reduce the appearance of cellulite. Swimming also tones the body and builds muscle, adding to its overall ability to help rid the body of cellulite. Combine swimming with other cardio workouts, such as walking, running or jogging for the best results.

Interval Training

Interval training is good for cellulite reduction because it burns more calories than running, walking or jogging alone. You can interval train by combining any two of the following workouts: walking, running, jogging or sprinting. Try a 20-minute interval workout if you’re just starting out. Start with a three- to five-minute warm-up then for 15 seconds workout at your max speed. For the next 45 seconds, work at a moderate pace. Repeat for 15 minutes and then cool down for another three to five minutes.

Watch Your Diet

Eating a balanced, healthy diet can help you lose weight and in turn lose cellulite. Diet is 80 percent of weight loss, so combining a healthy diet with a solid workout plan will yield the best results for getting rid of your cellulite.
