Magnesium is a naturally-occurring mineral that affects many biological processes. Magnesium gel is a thick substance with high magnesium content. This reduces side effects on the digestive tract that may result from oral administration of magnesium.
Vitamin Supplement
Magnesium levels are responsible for the proper functioning of many biological processes. The stability of the heart beat, the body's tolerance for stress and the flexibility of muscles all incorporate magnesium. Some people use magnesium gel as a method for increasing overall magnesium levels in the body as you would a vitamin or mineral supplement. In this way, a range of symptoms may be treated.
Skin Disorders
Magnesium has long been associated with the treatment of skin conditions. Bathing in waters with epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is often practiced as a technique for stress relief and overall calming of the body and nerves. Absorption of magnesium through the skin is also possible in this way using magnesium gel. The gel may be added to a bath or massaged into a foot bath to provide magnesium to the skin. This is an effective alternative to using epsom salt.
