Everybody wants to look young and beautiful; more importantly, everybody wants to look healthy. Soft, vibrant skin is one way to continually appear youthful. But if you have dry, damaged skin or if you are starting to wrinkle, then it is time to start investing in some vitamins that will slow your skin's aging process. Youthful-looking skin not only keeps you looking younger longer but will also make you feel healthier, as well
Vitamin A
Vitamin A lotions--lotions containing retinol--can help prevent your skin from aging and can also improve the appearance of any wrinkles you may already have. The added vitamin A helps increase glycosaminoglycan and procollagen, two of your skin's basic structural components which help retain water and produce collagen, notes Science Daily.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C, when applied to the skin, helps slow your skin's aging process by protecting your skin from free radicals. According to Life Extension, Vitamin C's topical antioxidant effects can even partially reverse some elements of skin aging by increasing your skin's natural collagen formation and improving your skin's level of hydration.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E protects your skin from free radicals much the way that vitamin C does. You often see vitamin E listed in lotions and skin creams as alpha-tocopheryl acetate, notes nutrition professor Maret G. Traver, Ph.D., and it slows the aging process by penetrating the surface of your skin and supporting the living cells that reside farther inside you. Once the vitamin E is deeper in your skin, it starts to act as an antioxidant and protects your cell membranes from damage.
