The top wrinkle remover creams have antiaging ingredients. They also protect and moisturize the skin. Wrinkle creams work on the skin in various ways to remove or minimize wrinkles. Some plump the skin and fill in the ridges, and others exfoliate skin and stimulate new skin cell growth, reducing lines and brightening the complexion. Always check the contents for proven antiaging ingredients that are approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Kinetin Creams

Kinetin is a plant growth factor that is effective in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and restoring cellular function, according to a study at the University of California Riverside by Carol Lovatt, Ph.D. Kinetin not only has antiaging benefits but also helps reverse the signs of aging by reducing wrinkles. A study reported on the Medical News Today website found that kinetin creams combined with niacinamide, a B complex, are more effective than kinetin alone. Both ingredients have antiaging benefits that when combined boost the age-fighting effects of both ingredients.

Vitamin C Creams

Vitamin C creams are effective as anti-wrinkle moisturizers, as they stimulate collagen biosynthesis and plump the skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin C creams are antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and boost collagen production, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Vitamin C creams are not only good for fighting wrinkles, but they also protect against sun damage. Sun damage is one of the leading causes of wrinkles.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid Creams

Alpha hydroxy acids, referred to as AHAs, are organic compounds from fruit, glycolic and lactic acids. They work by dissolving protein bonds that keep dead skin cells attached to the skin's surface, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. AHA creams exfoliate the skin, leaving skin smoother. They also reverse the damaging effects of the sun. A 1996 study at the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Pennsylvania found that patients treated with AHA creams showed significant reversal of the markers of photoaging. They also lighten the skin and help heal scarring.
Alpha hydroxy acids are also used in glycolic acid peels that reduce wrinkles and speed skin smoothing and wound healing. AHA creams and peels cause sun sensitivity while using the products. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using a broad-spectrum sunblock that protects against UVA and UVB rays and that has a sun protection factor of 30 or higher. The sun sensitivity is reversible and only continues for about a week after discontinuing use of the AHA product.
