How to Exercise on the Flat Belly Diet

Exercising on the Flat Belly Diet is going to be all that different than exercising with any other diet. One of the main things you will want to keep in mind though, is that this diet centers on the core areas of the body. The diet focuses on getting rid of belly fat and fat stored internally around the body's organs. Walking and light aerobics would offer many benefits to this diet by quickening the metabolism and ensuring that you keep the weight off. Light cardio will help to strengthen the heart and respiratory system. This will also allow for maximum oxygen uptake to allow the muscles to work better.

Many people use sit-ups and crunches to tone their abs and other core muscles. For someone who has been out of shape for awhile and is not used to lifting weights or using machines stretching and toning exercise would probably be a good place to start. The area surrounding the fat will need to be toned somewhat before any heavy exercising is done. This can accomplished by stretching. Yoga and Pilates are good choices here. These techniques will allow the muscles to be worked without being stressed. As they return to their normal shape, sit-ups and crunches can be added. When cardio and aerobics are used the stretching exercises can be implemented as a system warm up and cool down. This will prevent cramping and will reduce the build up of lactic acid that accumulates in the muscles during a work out. Using treadmills and ellipticals that offer some form of resistance in the form of inclines or random speed variations can be implemented as time goes on. This will provide not only cardio, but endurance training as well.

Remember to consult a physician before you begin any diet or exercise program. A physician can offer suggestions as to where to start and how much you should comfortably be able to do without overtaxing yourself. A checkup will also clue you in to any other issues you may be having that would affect an exercise and diet program. Give your physician all the details so that he can help you make an informed and intelligent decision.
