Most people will experience some form of tinnitus, commonly experienced as a ringing in the ears, which can interfere with your sleep or concentration, notes the University of Maryland Medical Center. Most ear problems can lead to tinnitus, including infection, foreign objects or damage from loud noises. Homeopathic remedies may reduce the discomfort of recurrent or chronic tinnitus, relieving the frustration that often accompanies the condition. The University of California, San Diego says that side effects generally do not occur with the use of homeopathic remedies, but advises consulting your health-care professional before beginning homeopathic treatment.

Carbo Vegetabilis

Ringing in the ears concurrent with the flu or vertigo indicates the use of carbo vegetabilis. Other symptoms include a desire for fresh air, poor circulation, slow bleeding with dark blood and a general sense of apathy and stagnation. The symptoms tend to get worse in the evening, in warm, damp weather and after drinking wine.

Chininum Sulphuricum

Violent ringing that impairs your hearing points toward the use of this remedy. The ringing may sound more like a buzzing or roaring. Vertigo and chills often accompany the tinnitus and make it worse. You may need chininum sulphuricum if you have a below-normal temperature and shiver even in a warm room.

Kali Carbonicum

This remedy addresses itching in the ears that accompanies ringing, roaring and crackling sounds. If you have these symptoms and experience vertigo when you turn, consider kali carbonicum. Symptoms improve with warm, dry weather and while you're moving but increase in cold weather or when lying on your left side.

Natrum Salicylicum

Low-toned ringing in the ears may indicate the use of natrum salicylicum. Tinnitus often results from Meniere's disease, an inner-ear disorder that affects hearing and balance, and natrum salicylicum addresses many Meniere's symptoms, such as vertigo, dizziness and hearing loss. This remedy also may help you recover from the lingering effects of influenza.

Salicylicum Acidum

Salicyclicum acidum is often the first choice for treating Meniere's disease and ringing in the ears. Vertigo and deafness often accompany the ringing or roaring sounds. Tinnitus resulting from excessive aspirin indicates the need for salicylicum acidum. Like natrum salicylicum, this remedy can help alleviate the lethargy that often results from the flu.
