Life seems to be moving faster and faster and no matter how fast you chase it, you just can't seem to get caught up. Once you do, it's only to realize that so many things just start all over again. No wonder you're exhausted. Many people who are flat out exhausted are unwilling to seek medication. Though Western science is skeptical, anecdotal evidence suggests that natural flower remedies such as homeopathic flower tinctures and homemade flower cures can help ease your exhaustion and your mind.
Step 1
Choose what kind of flower remedy you wish to make. Some flowers believed to ease exhaustion are calendula, hornbeam, olive, red rhododendron, sunflower and yarrow.
Step 2
Pick enough open blossoms to nearly fill a small glass bowl. Alchemyworks.com suggests that you ask the flower's permission first, but you should decide for yourself if this necessary.
Step 3
Fill the glass bowl full of flowers with filtered water, making sure that the entire surface of the water is covered with flowers.
Step 4
Set your bowl of flowers in the sun and let it sit for 3 to 4 hours.
Step 5
Strain the water in the bowl. Transfer the water in which the flowers have been soaking into a spouted measuring cup. Pour it slowly through an unbleached coffee filter or extra-fine cheesecloth to strain out any petals, leaves, stems or stray bugs.
Step 6
Pour the strained flower essence into a clean, dark glass bottle. Many flower remedy practitioners believe that only a black, brown or violet bottle should be used, but any glass dark enough to protect the flower remedy from light is acceptable. Fill the bottle one-half to three-quarters full.
Step 7
Fill the bottle the rest of the way with plain brandy to help stabilize and preserve the flower remedy. If you prefer to avoid alcohol, use glycerin or vinegar instead.
Step 8
Place 4 to 6 drops of flower remedy under your tongue, 2 to 3 times per day, or add a small amount to tea or juice.
