Many individuals suffer from the condition known as dry skin. Your skin is the body's first line of defense in fighting off bacteria that tries to enter the body. Vitamin B3

This vitamin is one of the eight B vitamins and is also called nicotinic acid. All B vitamins assist in converting carbohydrates into glucose for energy. They are water-soluble, which means the body does not store them, so you should consume them on a regular basis. B vitamins help in keeping your skin hydrated and toned. They also help in treating numerous health conditions such as cancer and aging of the skin, according the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Vitamin C

This vitamin helps in producing the protein called collagen, which is responsible for making scar tissue, blood vessels, and skin, according to MedlinePlus. Vitamin C is water-soluble, so it leaves your body through urine. It is also an antioxidant and helps in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. A lack of vitamin C in the body may make the skin dry and scaly, according to DermNETnz.

Vitamin A

This vitamin is fat-soluble and is responsible for forming and maintaining healthy soft tissue and skin. Vitamin A helps with vision and reproduction. It comes from two sources, retinol which is found in whole milk and liver and carotenoids, which is found in plants, according to MedlinePlus. It is also essential for the development and growth of skin cells.
