As you get older, your body starts to age as well, and many of your organs may need help from vitamins or supplements in order to work properly. Vitamins can assist in repairing and maintaining many of your organs to ensure that they are functioning the way they should be.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is water-soluble, which means it is not stored in the body and leaves through your urine. You should consume it daily in order to have the proper amount in your body. Vitamin C is essential for the growth and repair of tissues. When you get older, your skin is more fragile, and vitamin C can help in neutralizing damage that can be caused by pollution and UV rays from the sun, according to Northwestern Health Sciences University. Vitamin C is also responsible for the production of collagen, which is a protein that builds scar tissues and skin, according to MedlinePlus. Take vitamin C every day or a related supplement so your skin stays healthy and strong.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D can be found in dietary products like cod liver oil, fish and eggs. You can also obtain vitamin D through the sun. As you get older, your body may slow down and your bones can become stiff if you do not get enough exercise. Vitamin D helps in maintaining a normal blood levels for phosphorus and calcium. Calcium assists in forming and keeping bones strong. A lack of vitamin D may result in rickets, which can cause skeletal deformities and make you prone to weakness in the bones and muscles, according to the MayoClinic.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and can be found in foods, oils and fats. It is an antioxidant and helps in fighting off a number of different health conditions. Women in their 30s may experience a weakened immune system, which can lead to illness. Vitamin E helps in improving the immune system by forming red blood cells and fighting off free radicals. Vitamin E will also help in reducing your chances of heart disease and cancer. If you suffer from muscle weakness or loss of muscle mass due to your age, Vitamin E can help in absorbing fat properly and eliminate these conditions, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
