Fujairah is one of the emirates that comprise the United Arab Emirates. Located on the Gulf of Oman, which connects to the Indian Ocean, this area is mountainous and has a seasonal climate. This area has unspoiled natural beauty and features waterfalls, hot springs, long beaches, clear waters and many valleys.

Park

Spend time in Fujairah's 124-acre park that is located at the foot of the Hajar Mountains. Individuals can explore this park, Ain Al Madhab, and discover volcanoes, geysers, mud pots and hot springs. This park features several warm sulfuric springs that are fed by underground mineral springs. There are two swimming pools, one for men and one for women, in the park. In addition to the swimming area, the park features the ruins of two ancient villages and exhibits of antique fishing boats, houses, pottery and costumes. There is a botanical garden and an outdoor theater that hosts traditional singing and dancing.

Hiking

The area surrounding Fujairah is filled with locations to go hiking. One of the most recommended locations is Ain Al Ghamour, which is located just south of the city center. This mountainous area has miles of trails, many of which go next to natural springs, beautiful waterfalls and over large and small valleys. The natural springs that you will discover on your hike will range from cold to hot in temperature.

Diving

Due to the clarity of the waters off the coast of Fujairah, this area is popular for diving. There are several dive companies that will take visitors out into the tropical waters to discover the marine life in the Indian Ocean. If you are not certified to scuba dive, it takes just five days to get certified in the United Arab Emirates.

Market

The city of Fujairah has a popular traditional market called the Friday Market, which despite its name, is open every day. This convenient market is located along the main road outside of Fujairah leading to Masafi. The market has no traditional hours and is open nearly all day and night. At the market you can find fresh local produce, carpets, nurseries selling plants, pottery shops, souvenir shops and a café. There is no fixed price at the market, and bargaining is encouraged.

Fishing

The clear warm waters around Fujairah are popular for fishing. There are boat charters that can take you out on half-day or full-day fishing trips. Common fish caught on these trips include queenfish, bigeye trevally, barracuda, grouper and bonito.
