Cleansing teas contain herbal ingredients intended to remove toxins from the body to promote a healthier digestive system. According to Consumer Reports, no evidence has been presented that proves that cleansing teas are beneficial for the human body. Cleansing teas that contain laxative ingredients should not be used on a regular basis because they put you at risk for dehydration and electrolyte imbalances.

Wu-Yi Cleansing Tea

Benefits of this tea claimed by the manufacturer include weight loss, flushed toxins and purification of the mind and body. It is a decaffeinated tea with ingredients that include green tea, lemongrass, dandelion, honeysuckle, lotus leaf and senna leaves. To prepare the tea, place 1 to 2 cups of boiling water over the tea bag. Allow the tea to steep for at least three minutes before drinking. The manufacturer recommends using the tea two to four times a week.

Yogi Tea Detox Cleansing Tonic

This tea is manufactured for individuals looking to promote healthy kidney and liver function. Burdock and dandelion are the herbs included that are intended to support the liver. The manufacturer claims the juniper berry aids the kidneys. A blend of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper is included to help blood flow. Add 1 cup of boiling water to the teabag for preparation. You may use as many as 3 teabags to increase the tea’s effectiveness. You can repeat usage throughout the day and consume as many as 10 cups of tea daily. The cleansing product should be used for a maximum of 30 days.
