Although teenagers sometimes can be hard to please, it is possible to find interesting and fun-filled activities for them to busy themselves. New York City offers a wide-range of activities and, at the very least, will keep the visiting teenager's itinerary packed with events.

Tours

New York City alone can serve as a tour location for the curious teenager. However, On Location Tours offers tour destinations that may be easier to get done in a shorter period of time.
The company offers tours of some of the famous spots and scenes shown in various TV shows and movies. On Location Tours will take you to sites for "Sex and the City," "The Sopranos," "Friends" and more. And after touring sets and various movie locations, the teen can go on a live studio tour at NBC Studio. Since 1933, NBC has offered this tour of its facilities located in Rockefeller Center.

Observation Decks

Not only is Rockefeller Center home to NBC Studios, but it also boasts a wildly popular observation deck. Known as the Top of the Rock, the three-level observation deck makes up the 67th, 69th and 70th floors of Rockefeller Center.
Although the 67th and 69th floors are encased in transparent glass, the 70th floor offers a completely open, 360-degree view of New York City.
The Empire State Building's observation decks are housed on the 86th and 102nd floors. Open until 2 a.m., this observatory is a good option for any teen getting a late start on his day.

Central Park

Biking, rollerblading, and horseback riding are just a few of the healthy activities that can be done at Central Park. The 136 acres of green space offer an abundance of hidden treasures throughout the park.
Fountains, statues, and sports fields allow visitors the opportunity to enjoy and learn during a stroll, people watch or take advantage of candid photo opportunities.

Shop and Explore

New York City has a variety of shopping destinations from which to choose. And even the most persnickety teen is bound to find a souvenir or two from one of the popular locations.
First, there's Chinatown. Visitors to Chinatown will enjoy shopping bargains, inexpensive restaurants and unique merchandise.
Another great place for shopping in NYC is the South Street Seaport. This waterside shopping center offers high-end shops and economical retailers.
And then there's Grand Central Station. Visitors can take advantage of visiting the nation's busiest train station while indulging in fine dining and retail therapy.

Times Square

A visit to Times Square introduces teenagers to the high-energy and bright lights of New York City. Times Square seems to never sleep and neither do many of the shops located there. Whether you want to catch a Broadway play, an inexpensive meal or a gallery showing, Times Square has something for all tastes and budgets.
