Not all anti-wrinkle products perform the same, and many contain ingredients whose efficacy are only backed by big advertising campaigns. To actually diminish and soften the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging, choose a wrinkle reducing treatment that's been reviewed and approved by skincare experts. With the right cream or serum, you can help maintain your skin's health for a firmer and more youthful face.
Jan Marini Skin Research Bioglycolic Facial Lotion
Jan Marini Skin Research performed beyond expectations in skincare expert Paula Begoun's review. She loved its "effective amount of glycolic acid," which the University of Maryland Medical Center says helps to exfoliate and resurface the skin to eliminate small wrinkles. It also contains titanium dioxide, which effectively blocks ultraviolet light from damaging your skin and creating new wrinkles and other signs of photo-aging.
Shiseido Future Solution Total Regenerating Cream
Shiseido's anti-aging cream was the top moisturizer in the Cosmetic Executive Women's 2010 beauty awards, said to be the beauty industry's equivalent to the Oscars. Reviewers liked its proprietary complex, which helps prevent wrinkle-causing free radical damage, as well as various antioxidants and moisturizers to help rejuvenate and firm up the skin's surface.
Olay Definity Correcting Protective Lotion with SPF 15
Olay's Definity product was rated as "very good" by Begoun. She notes its effective combination of niacinamide, glucosamine and other "skin-friendly" ingredients that can help to protect against and diminish wrinkles. It also contains avobenzone, making it a "good daily sunscreen" with "sufficient UVA protection." Olay adds cosmetic mineral pigments to give your face an immediately more even tone.
Revlon Age Defying Precise Wrinkle Eraser with Botafirm
Revlon's wrinkle treatment can "fill in and reduce" the severity of lines on your face, reports Begoun. She says this makes it useful for wearing under your makeup to keep your foundation from sinking into your wrinkles. It is formulated with a proprietary peptide complex, antioxidants like vitamin E and moisturizers to help keep your skin healthy and prevent new fine lines from forming.
