Along with vitamins C, B-5 and B-6, this formula also contains L-Tyrosine, licorice, and adrenal cortex extract. The manufacturer's site says this extract is in "a highly absorbable predigested form."
Allergy Research Group: Adrenal Natural Glandular
Allergy Research Group's Adrenal Natural Glandular is purported by the company to "support the entire adrenal gland." This includes the outer portion of the adrenal gland, which oversees cortisol production, and the inner part of the adrenals, which govern adrenaline and norepinephrine, the manufacturer explains. The balance of these hormones is necessary for proper energy production in the body.
Allergy Research Group maintains that the glands come from animals in New Zealand that are government-inspected to be range-fed.
NOW Foods: Super Cortisol Support
NOW Foods' Super Cortisol Support defines itself as "an herbal and nutritional formula designed to support healthy adrenal function and maintain healthy cortisol levels already within the normal range." The complex contains adaptogenic herbs, which assist the adrenals with either increasing or decreasing output as is necessary for the individual. It also contains nutrients good for the adrenals, including chromium, corosolic acid and Relora.
Caution should be taken by those who are already on medications for blood sugar regulation.
Herb Pharm: Adrenal Support Tonic
The purpose of Herb Pharm's Adrenal Support Tonic, according to its website, is to "support healthy function of the adrenal glands." This liquid mixture contains Eleuthero root, licorice root, oat "milky" seed, sarsaparilla root, prickly ash bark, distilled water, and certified organic alcohol and vegetable glycerine.
Herb Pharm uses either certified organic herbs, or ones that are "wildcrafted" in their natural habitat.
