Prasterone
Prasterone is a steroid produced mostly by the adrenal cortex, but small amounts can also be produced by the testes and the ovaries. Aphrodine HCl is also known as yohimbine, a plant alkaloid that blocks the activity of alpha-2-adrenergic receptors. Alleged to be an aphrodisiac, it functions as a vasodilator, increasing blood flow.
Gokshura Extract
Gokshura extract contains 45 percent steroidal saponins: tribol, furostanol and protodioscin. According to Todd Caldecott, a clinical herbalist and Ayurvedic practitioner, gokshura is an herb that reportedly has aphrodisiac, anti-spasmodic, anti-tumor and anti-fungal properties. It can protect against liver damage and urinary tract infections. As a nutritional supplement, it provides a good source of calcium, although it shows toxicity in sheep.
Trigonella Isolates
Trigonella is a genus of the Fabaceae family, which also includes fenugreek. Trigonella isolates contain 4-hydroxyisoleucine, which is a very unusual amino acid: a derivative of one of the 20 essential amino acids, 4-hydroxyisoleucine has an insulin-stimulating effect.
