Warm Weather Fun
A visit to Fairmont Hot Springs in the summer promises outdoor fun. The pools at the resort are fed by natural hot springs that come out of the ground at a temperature of 155 degrees Fahrenheit. It is then cooled to suit the preference of the guest. Golfing is another popular activity at the Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Golf Digest magazine named The Old Works golf course one of the best places to play in Montana. Several hiking trails are available for most abilities. The longest, Whitehall Louise Lake Trail, is 65 miles long. Rafting is another option. Guests can bring the necessary equipment or rent rafts and other items on site. Horseback riding, mountain biking and fishing are also available.
Fun in the Snow
In the colder months, the Fairmont area becomes a winter wonderland. The Discovery Ski area, about 30 minutes from the resort, is home to downhill skiing appropriate for all ages. With more than 60 runs, everyone from the novice to the most experienced skier will be challenged. Lessons for all ages and skill levels are also available. More than 600 miles of snowmobile trails cut through the area around Fairmont.
On Site Sports
The resort has plenty of ways to stay active without stepping off the resort grounds. Guests have the use of tennis courts and basketball courts. Volleyball, badminton and horseshoes also are available.
Dining
The resort's restaurant, the Mile High Dining Room, has guilty pleasures such as chicken fettuccine. Those who are trying to eat healthier meals will find plenty of options. Salmon prepared with a balsamic vinegar sauce and Mediterranean chicken with artichoke hearts and mushrooms in a wine sauce are two meals that won't require extra time on the treadmill.
Kid Friendly Fun
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort has lots of stuff for kids. Most kids will enjoy swimming in the resort's pools, which come with a 350 foot water slide that lands sliders in one of the hot spring pools. Wildlife is plentiful in the area, providing excellent viewing opportunities.
