According to the Bandon Chamber of Commerce, Budget Travel lists Bandon as the "Sixth Coolest Small Town in America." This coastal town features beauty, recreation and relaxation. For most people, thoughts of the town of Bandon conjure up images of the beach and its rock formations and surfers out in the water. Visitors can enjoy a round of golf, a day walking through an exotic petting zoo and a local farmers market.
Golf
Bandon is home to several premier golf courses. At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, visitors will find three public courses, the Bandon Dunes Course, the Pacific Dunes Course and the Bandon Trails Course. At the Old Bandon Golf Links, visitors will find a public nine-hole course that has a par 32. Finally, in Bandon is the 18-hole public Bandon Crossings Golf Course, which has a par 72.
Farmers Market
Every Saturday, guests can visit the Bandon Farmers Market. This market, which started in 2006, features local produce, artisan goods, fresh seafood, pies, pastries and dairy products. In addition to the fresh produce, the market also holds cooking classes, music, dancing and wine tasting.
Game Park
An exotic activity for visitors in Bandon could be a trip to the West Coast Game Park. This park, which is America's Largest Wild Animal Petting Park, features a "walk-thru" safari that allows visitors to pet, walk and take pictures with free-roaming animals. Animals in this park include bison, camels, lions, leopards, bears, tigers, chimps, elk, panthers and cougars. In addition to these free-roaming animals, the park also features an animal nursery.
Beach
A wonderful place to take in the Pacific coast and to spend a few hours exploring the region is at the Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint. There is a well-kept trail that winds along the beach out to Face Rock. In addition to this overlooking cliff, during low tide, visitors can explore the many tidal pools. According to Native American legend, if you stand on the edge of the cliff, you will hear a maiden's voice in the wind.
Fishing
