From Niagara Falls to the Adirondacks to Watkins Glen, New York has a variety of KOA Campgrounds. Hiking, biking and whitewater rafting are just a few of the many activities available while staying at a KOA. KOA also has many amenities to make you feel at home while enjoying some challenging physical activity.

Hiking

The Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Campground is close to Adirondack State Park, home to 6 million acres of public acreage. Take the family fishing or on a canoe trip, as more than 3,000 ponds and lakes are available. If you want to stay on land, there are more than 2,000 miles of hiking trails to enjoy. The Lake Placid/Whiteface Mountain KOA Campground sits along nearly a half-mile of the Ausable River, which is known for its waterfalls and trout fishing.

Activities

The New York KOA Campgrounds have activities to keep the family busy. Located at the Watkins Glen KOA Campground is a gigantic jumping pillow. This activity is a giant air-filled pillow that resembles a big trampoline for kids and adults. The campground also features a fishing pond on the property. Guests can rent a pedal cart, similar to a bicycle with a cart, to carry two people. These carts take a trip around the fishing pond and provide a good cardio workout.

Sightseeing

The Cooperstown KOA is located near Cooperstown, New York, and the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. This location is close to a variety of other activities, including the Farmer's Museum, Erie Canal Cruises and Howe Caverns. Bake sales are held on the campground, as the local Amish residents come to KOA to sell their baked goods. During the evening, the adults might enjoy the nearby Leatherstocking Theatre or Glimmerglass Opera for an evening of theater arts.

Outdoor Activities

Niagara Falls KOA is near one of the most famous waterfalls in North America. The KOA offers a van ride to the falls; or you can head to the Niagara Gorge for a ride on the rapids. Tourists desiring exercise can go from a swim at the campground pool or play volleyball with family and friends in the recreation room. A basketball court is also available to play a pick-up game and increase the heart rate.

Camp Amenities

The New York KOA Campgrounds feature a variety of amenities. Travelers can rent RV sites, tent sites or cabins. Electrical plug-in service is available. Propane gas is available for those visitors cooking their meals in their campers.
