Dizziness can be caused by problems with your eyes, ears, nerves, joints and muscles; making you feel unsteady or faint. It's not usually a serious problem, but it can indicate a vitamin deficiency. Increasing your intake of these vitamins and certain extracts can easily heal this. Sometimes dizziness can indicate something more serious, so if the problem persists after changing your vitamin intake, visit your doctor.

Vitamin B-12

This is the usual vitamin deficiency suspect if you're experiencing dizziness. According to the Vegetarian Society, "Vitamin B-12's primary functions are in the formation of red blood cells and the maintenance of a healthy nervous system." So if you're not ingesting enough of the vitamin you could be susceptible to a blood pressure drop, which causes dizziness. Drug InfoNet says, "It's a complex vitamin to absorb and gives lots of different symptoms if deficient." A lack of vitamin B-12 also causes weakness, again making you feel dizzy.

Ginger

The traditional treatment for dizziness has always been ginger. This practice is still carried on in modern herbal remedies, as the body reacts quickly to the herb. Herbs2000.com says, "Its remedial effects can be felt even within minutes following consumption--the herbal ginger preparations help to beat back sudden dizziness." In tests, ginger has proved itself to be more effective than many over-the-counter medications and there are also no known side effects.

Gingko Biloba

The Mayo Clinic reports this extract is commonly used to remedy dizziness. Ginkgo biloba works by boosting the blood flow to the brain. Speak to your doctor before taking this extract, as it can decrease the blood's ability to clot. There are also other more side effects, such as diarrhea or headache.

Vitamin B-6

This vitamin is essential for the brain and the nervous system to function normally; getting enough is vital for avoiding dizziness. Find vitamin B-6 most potently in red meat and leafy green vegetables.

Vitamin D

Your inner ear is partly responsible for your sense of balance, so any ear problems may cause dizziness. Getting enough vitamin D is vital for your ear health. Innvista.com says, "Vitamin D deficiency can not only contribute to rickets and osteoporosis, but also to calcium loss in the bones of the inner ear." Changes can occur to the bones in your ear if you don't get enough vitamin D, found most easily in sunlight.
