Whether you are on vacation at Long Beach, or a resident, there are several things to do to enjoy the days. Activities such as bike riding, horseback riding and kayaking are just a few of the options available. If taking it easy is more your style, there are beaches for relaxing and suntanning.

Horseback Riding

When it comes to fitness, a person can get a great workout from atop a horse. Whether you want to ride on the beach or a trail, the right rental place can be easily found. Guided rides are available daily, as well as a faster-paced rides at the Beard's Hollow. Spend a half-day over a hillside trip, or maybe a packing trip. If you're a romantic, enjoy a sunset horseback ride option, a beachfront wagon ride or a carriage ride in downtown Long Beach. For the kids, pony rides are available, and the toddlers are able to ride with adults on many listed options.

Kayak Options

When on the beach is where you want to be, several businesses rent kayaks. Willapa Bay has seven rivers with various creeks draining into them, providing countless hours of exploration. The tidal streams provide opportunities to view many wildlife species. On the bay shore, seals, sea lions and a variety of birds are common sightings. Sometime young gray whales can be seen, and on a rare occasion, orcas, great white sharks and harbor porpoises have been spotted.
Boating on Willapa Bay can be a most enjoyable experience, but keep in mind some tips for a safe journey. The waters generally stay around 50 degrees F year-round, so plan for cold water no matter the weather forecast. Always wear a life jacket. Most of Willipa Bay is a mud flat, so be cautious of tide levels and times.

Beach Activities

Other beach activities include more than 13 walking trails, offering both guided and self-guided trails. Picnics, birdwatching and clamming are a few options for remaining on the beach and taking in the sun. Whale watching, lighthouse museums and fishing are a few other options to enjoy while visiting Long Beach.

Moped and Bike Rentals

Long Beach Rentals began in 1991 to provide fun activities for children on vacation. Currently, more than bicycles can be rented. The company offers banana bikes and surreys for small groups to share. Mopeds are available for those over the age of 16, which are great for touring both the beach and town.

Cottages

For an outstanding lodging choice, look no further than the Anchorage Cottages. One- and two-bedroom cottages are available, and each cottage features the beauty of garden, patio area and a private path that leads to the water's edge. A fireplace with supplied wood is an option, and for a small pet fee, most of the cottages allow pets.
Each cottage comes standard with a full kitchen, including cookware, utensils and dishes. BBQ grills are available for outside grilling. In addition, the Anchorage Cottages will promote area restaurants and will accommodate you with reservations.
Enjoy the 28-mile beach, which is just a stroll down the path. Outdoor lounging areas, basketball and racquetball courts, and playgrounds with swings or volleyball are all options while relaxing at the cottages.

Other Attractions Offered at Long Beach

The town of Long Beach is made up of antique stores, galleries, kite shops, video arcade, bumper cars, museums and a movie theater. Also, there are lighthouses, golf courses, a bird and wildlife sanctuary, horseback riding and hiking and biking trails.
