Things to Do in Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania

The small town of Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania, is located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains. This town is centered around a 125-acre lake and has year-round activities for visitors to enjoy. In the area, the majority of activities are designed for the active and health-conscious tourist, including skiing, hiking, biking and golfing.

Park

Hickory Run State Park is located in Lake Harmony. The wooded park features 43 miles of trails over 16,000 acres. Throughout the park are numerous streams filled with trout and other fish. Popular activities in the park are hiking, fishing and swimming. The swimming area is open from May through September. Additionally, there are several picnic areas in the park to enjoy lunch or dinner.

Golfing

At Split Rock Resort and Golf Club, Lake Harmony visitors will find a 27-hole championship golf facility. It takes at least 4 1/2 hours to play a round on this spacious golf course. The course features views of the surrounding mountains, and if you are in the area during the fall, make sure to take in all the changing leaves. This public course allows for you to play nine or 18 holes, offers golf lessons and hosts several tournaments throughout the year.

Healthy Dining

Head to Nick's Lake House to wind down after a busy day of enjoying all the activities around Lake Harmony. Nick's has been open since 1923 and is one of the most popular restaurants in Lake Harmony.
Healthy menu items at Nick's include several soups and salads, chicken entrees and a variety of fresh sushi rolls. In addition to the food, Nick's also provides you with one of the best locations to watch the sunset in Lake Harmony.
Nick's is open daily for dinner and serves brunch on Fridays and Saturdays.

Biking

When staying in Lake Harmony, head over to Peterson's Sky and Cycle either on Tuesday night or Sunday morning for a bike ride. The Tuesday night ride is for mountain bikers, and the Sunday morning ride is a road ride.
Do not worry about bringing your bike with you to Lake Harmony. Peterson's rents bikes for the day, multiple days or the week. Helmets are included in the rental fee.

Skiing

If you are in Lake Harmony during the winter, head to Jack Frost Big Boulder Ski area. This ski park has 21 trails that are designed for a variety of skill levels, ranging from beginner to intermediate. There are seven lifts over 130-acres of ski-able terrain.
At the top of the mountain, skiers have views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. This mountain is typically less crowded than other Pocono Mountains and is considered one of the best cruising mountains in the Poconos. If you need to rent skis, head to Peterson's Ski and Cycle shop.
