The popularity of extreme sports has skyrocketed thanks to events such as the X Games bringing global attention to such sports. One of the longest running and most popular extreme sports is aggressive inline skating. This is a fast-paced, exciting sport with a variety of tricks, some of which can be learned easily, while others take much practice.

Soul Grind

Grinding is a type of trick that can be used on vert ramps and during street skating. All that it requires is your feet and a rail. According to the website Grandside, to perform a soul grind, get a fair amount of speed and approach a rail. When you get alongside the rail, jump up and land on the rail with your back foot parallel with the rail and the front foot perpendicular. You should be able to maintain speed for a while. When you feel yourself slowing down, jump off and continue skating.

Toe Gliding

According to the website Inline Online, toe gliding is a trick that has an added bonus--it will strengthen your legs and feet, particularly your calves. To perform a toe glide, get a moderate amount of speed and thrust with your calves to push yourself up from all four wheels to just your front wheel. You'll need to have strong legs to keep this position up for a long period. The trick looks better if you put both feet up and down simultaneously.

360 Spin

One of the simplest spin tricks is the 180, in which you spin your body around 180 degrees in the air. Once you master this, you can move on to the 360 spin. To perform this trick, you'll need to build speed. Come at the ramp at a slight angle so you can jump-start your spin. Shift your weight to one side as hard as you can and keep your knees bent to take the impact when you land.

Mizou Grind

The mizou grind is a grind that takes some practice to master. According to a video tutorial at Aggressive Mall, you'll need to build up a moderate amount of speed for the mizou grind. When you are alongside a rail or ledge, jump up and land on the rail or ledge with your front foot oriented forward, on the side of the object. Turn your back foot perpendicular to the direction you're traveling so that the rail or ledge is sliding between the middle two wheels of your skate.
