There is no scientific way to say which golf ball is best. A better question is: what is the best golf ball for me? According to the United States Golf Association, balls must meet certain guidelines to become a conformed golf ball. All of the conformed golf balls are approved for playing in regulation golf events. The best way to determine what is the best golf ball for you is to go to the driving range or the course and see which ball works best for you. A golfer with a high handicap will not find that different balls make that much of a difference in his game, but as you get better your choice of ball becomes more important in your performance.
Nike
Nike offers many golf balls, covering a range of prices. The Nike Excite ball allows the high handicap player to play without worrying about the price of each lost ball. The Nike One Black and the Nike Platinum balls are for more advanced players and carry a higher price point.
Titleist
Titleist is a widely known golf brand. The top-of-the-line Titleist ball is the Pro-V. Titleist has a higher price point than some other brands, but the performance of the ball is worth the price to low handicap players. At a lower price point, Titleist offers the NXT Tour ball and the DT Solo, which allow beginners to play the brand without having to worry about the high expense of lost balls.
Callaway
The Callaway brand is a respected brand that offers balls for everyone from the high handicap player to the player on the PGA tour. Their top-of-the-line ball, the HX Tour ball, offers the spin and speeds advanced players look for when choosing a ball. The HX Hot golf ball is moderately priced and allows players to use a quality ball while not being too concerned about ball loss.
