General Mills Cereal Nutritional Information

General mills began as a flour milling company in the 1850s, according to the General Mills website. As of 2010, they are one of the largest food companies in the world. They began producing cereal in the 1930s with Kix. Now, the company offers more than 60 different cereals, from Cheerios to Total Cranberry Crunch.

Fiber One Cereals

There are a number of Fiber One products available at the supermarket from yogurt to granola bars. But Fiber One first started as a bran-based cereal. According to the General Mills website, the original Fiber One cereal has 60 calories, 1g of total fat, 105 mg of sodium, 25 g of carbohydrate, 14 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a half-cup serving. It is the highest in fiber of the Fiber One cereals. Fiber One honey clusters has 160 calories, 1.5 g of total fat, 290 mg of sodium, 42 g of total carbohydrate, 13 g of dietary fiber and 5 g of protein is a one cup serving. Fiber One raisin bran has 170 calorie, 1 g of total fat, 260 mg of sodium, 45 g of carbohydrate, 11 g of dietary fiber and 4 g of protein.

Cheerios Cereals

Cheeri-oats debuted in 1941 as the first ready-to-eat oat cereal, explains the Cheerios website. Today, there are ten varieties of Cheerios. The oat bran in Cheerios contains the soluble fiber shown to help lower cholesterol levels. The original Cheerios has 100 calories, 2 g of total fat, 160 mg of sodium, 20 g of total carbohydrate, 3 g of dietary fiber and 3 g of protein in a one cup serving. It is a low-sugar cereal with only 1 g per serving. Oat clusters Cheerios crunch has 100 calorie, 1 g of total fat, 135 mg of sodium, 22 g of total carbohydrates, 2 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a 3/4 cup serving, according to the General Mill website. Multigrain Cheerios have 110 calories, 1 g of fat, 160 mg of sodium, 23 g of total carbohydrate, 3 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a 3/4 cup serving.

Total Cereals

The Total cereals provide 100 percent of the Daily Value of 11 essential vitamins and minerals, says the Total website. The original Total cereal has 100 calories, 0.5 g of total fat, 190 mg of sodium, 23 g of total carbohydrate, 3 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a 3/4 cup serving. Total blueberry pomegranate has 170 calories, 2 g of total fat, 95 g of sodium, 38 g of total carbohydrate, 4 g of dietary fiber and 5 g of protein in a one cup serving. As of June 2010, Total has a new flavor, according to the Total website, called Total Plus Omega-3s honey almond flax with 200 calories, 3.5 g of fat, 90 mg of sodium, 40 g of total carbohydrate, 4 g of fiber and 5 g of protein in a one cup serving.

Chex Cereals

Chex cereals are known as an ingredient for party mixes. They also are a source of whole grains, according to the Chex website, but not a good source of fiber. Rice Chex, made from whole grain rice, is gluten free and has 100 calories, 0 g of total fat, 250 mg of sodium, 23 g of total carbohydrate, 0 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a one cup serving. Wheat Chex, made with whole grain wheat, has 160 calories, 1 g of total fat, 340 mg of sodium, 38 g of total carbohydrate, 5 g of dietary fiber and 5 g of protein in a 3/4 cup serving. Cinnamon Chex is also gluten free with 120 calories, 2 g of total fat, 180 mg of sodium 25 g of total carbohydrate, less than 1 g of dietary fiber and 1 g of protein.

Kix Cereals

Kix was introduced in 1937 as the first ready-to-eat corn cereal, says the General Mills website. Original Kix has 110 calories, 1 g of total fat, 190 mg of sodium, 25 g of total carbohydrate, 3 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a 1 1/4 cup serving. Berry Berry Kix has 100 calories, 1 g of total fat, 180 mg of sodium, 22 g of total carbohydrate, 1 g of dietary fiber and 1 g of protein in a 3/4 cup serving. Honey Kix has 120 calories, 1 g of total fat, 190 mg of sodium, 3 g of dietary fiber and 2 g of protein in a 1 1/4 cup serving.
