Weslo treadmills provide a cardiovascular workout in the comfort of your home. These units offer an economical alternative to many gym memberships, and allow you to run or walk even when it's cold or raining outside. If you experience problems with your Weslo treadmill, you may be able to repair the unit using only a few simple tools.
Fix the Display Unit
Step 1
Unplug the Weslo treadmill from the wall.
Step 2
Examine the front of the treadmill base. Look for three screws located along the front of the unit. Remove these three screws using a screwdriver and set them aside for re-use.
Step 3
Look at the top of the Weslo treadmill base along the front. Remove the screw from either side of the base along the foot rails. Set the screws aside for re-use.
Step 4
Lift the plastic cover off the front of the treadmill and locate the pulley situated along one side of the belt.
Step 5
Check for a magnet located to the left side of the pulley. You'll also see a reed switch adjacent to the magnet. Measure the gap between the pulley and reed switch. Typically, when this gap is larger than 1/8 inch, the display on the Weslo treadmill won't operate correctly.
Step 6
Use your screwdriver to remove the screw holding the reed switch in place. Adjust the switch so it is 1/8 inch from the magnet, then secure it back in place using the screw.
Step 7
Reassemble the hood and replace all screws. Test the display unit to ensure it is operating normally. If the display still doesn't work, call Weslo for additional instructions.
Repair a Treadmill Belt
Step 1
Locate the roller bolts at either edge of the Weslo treadmill's rear base. These bolts have hex heads, which means you'll need an Allen wrench to turn them.
Step 2
Turn the bolts 1/4 turn counter-clockwise if your belt is too tight or doesn't move. Lift the edges of the belt by hand when you're done. When the belt is in the right position, you will be able to lift the edges 2 to 3 inches off the base of the treadmill.
Step 3
Tighten a belt that is too loose by turning both bolts 1/4 turn clockwise using your Allen wrench. Check that you can lift the belt 2 to 3 inches off the base when you're done.
Step 4
Center the belt by turning only one of these roller bolts. If the belt has shifted to the left, turn only the left bolt 1/2 turn clockwise. If the belt has shifted to the right, turn only the right bolt 1/2 turn clockwise. Keep adjusting one bolt at a time until the belt is centered along the base.
