Water Sports and Activities

Miami is active all year-round but the best time of year to visit the city is in the spring. Depending on the month of your birthday, summer and the neighboring months are also perfect for cooling off in the ocean. There are so many water activities to enjoy on your birthday. Snorkel the offshore reefs or swim the length of the beach from the Delano Beach lounge to the pier at the tip of South Beach. Biscayne National Park is home to the only tropical reef in the continental United States. Jump in and swim with the dolphins at Miami Sea Aquarium. This marine life park is perfect for guests young and old and is a favorite for kids' birthday parties. Charter a fishing boat and captain for the day. Some of the best fishing in South Florida can be had at South Pointe Park in Miami Beach. There are tons of marinas in Miami that do daily charters including half-day or full-day fishing excursions.

Parks and Museums

Miami's rich history is dedicated to enhancing the services available to health enthusiasts in many of the city's public venues including a variety of museums, botanical gardens and national parks. Stroll the grounds of Vizcaya, a mansion- turned-museum with sprawling outdoor gardens and an Orchidarium. Explore the waterfront entertainment and shopping area of Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami. Keep walking south from Bayside to nearby Bayfront Park, which features weekly farmers markets, festivals and a large outdoor trapeze training area with daily acrobatic classes. Check out the Planetarium as your day is unwinding, at the Miami Science Museum or plan a picnic at Fairchild Tropical Gardens. Fairchild Tropical Gardens features collections of rare botanical plants and flowers, perfect for a birthday stroll. The Metrozoo is a great choice for a children's birthday party since they can ride a camel, watch a variety of live wildlife shows and take a ride on the jungle carousel.

Biking

Enjoy a birthday bike ride and explore everything the city has to offer from a cyclist's perspective. Ride the bike-friendly boardwalk on South Beach and take in the ocean views and Art Deco style of the area. Everglades National Park provides miles of untamed bike trails that are nicely paved and completely safe but don't be surprised to see a handful of alligators along the way. There are also dozens of bike rental places that offer both half-day and full-day rides. Some rental places may even give you a discount on your birthday.

Sports

Miami offers a variety of recreational activities to enjoy on your birthday. With dozens of public golf courses, including the famed Doral Golf Resort, you can enjoy 18 holes on one of Doral's championship courses that plays host to the PGA Tour. Bring your driver's license and ask about discount tee times and special offers on your birthday. Play some pick-up sporting games with friends and have a birthday barbecue at Pace Park in downtown Miami. The park features public tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and a large children's jungle gym adventure area. The park also offers family picnic benches with large grills for BBQ cooking.

Walk and Shop Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road is often referred to as Fifth Avenue's Miami Beach counterpart. It is a pedestrian mall that runs the length of fourteen14 blocks from Alton Road to Washington Avenue.
